MAMAN WOMEN || Bridget Snelling

In today's world, it is a privilege to come across individuals who embody strength, resilience and determination. For us at Maman one such remarkable person is Bridget Snelling (Biddy), a true friend of our brand.  Biddy's journey as a mother, daughter, sister, friend, a wife, the now Country Manager of Xero New Zealand and a breast cancer survivor is an inspiring story and one that has driven us here at Maman to work closely with the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation to help raise both awareness and funds to support their tireless work.

Our founders Kate and Emma met Biddy back at school.  She was always outgoing, friendly and had that ability, even back then, to manage everything with a level head; a true leader.  A proud supporter of Maman since day one, Biddy is a constant cheerleader in her friends and families worlds so when Biddy was diagnosed in 2021 with breast cancer it was time for her community to rally around her.  Managing her job as the then Marketing Director for Xero New Zealand, medical appointments and long days of treatment alongside her husband Ben and three gorgeous children Tommy, Jemima and Tallulah in the COVID-19 era was incredible and humbling to watch.

Last week Maman hosted a Wellness Morning with Biddy as our guest speaker, where she spoke to a room of our wonderful Maman community about her top tips for self care and what her breast cancer diagnosis has taught her.  Such an inspiration, she helped to drive the room to successfully raise $10,000 for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.

Biddy's ability to maintain a work-life balance reminds us of the importance of prioritising our loved ones.  Her professional success demonstrates the power of determination, hard work and innovation.  Biddy's journey through breast cancer serves as a reminder to cherish our health, stay positive in the face of adversity and above all to support those around us in sickness and in health.  We are so proud to have Biddy as our latest Maman Woman and remain in absolute awe of everything she does, everything she is, and everything she stands for.  #TeamBiddy

Paige jeans, Ba&sh blazer, simple tee and my Philippe Model sneakers.

Fashion Mantra:

Style Inspiration/Fashion Icon:

Kate Middleton; she is always perfectly put together, and Trinny Woodall as I love how she gives fashion flare and fun.

Last thing you googled:

The weather in Bali!  Heading there in two days and hoping for sunshine!

Last book you read:

The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead. An amazing book that highlights the atrocities against enslaved people in 19th Century America.

A day in the life of Bridget looks like:

6.15am I wake up and straight into 20 minutes of Vedic meditation, then up and at it getting kids breakfast and sorting lunches ahead of school drop off then on to the office for usually back to back meetings.  The afternoon is school pick up for one or two of my three kids, maybe a drop off to an activity depending on the day, then home for more work and meetings online.  I love helping the kids with their homework followed by dinner with my family, then my second Vedic meditation while I have an infrared sauna (I do this almost every day!), followed by a snuggle and Netflix binge with my husband.  Bed and a book - always later than I intend!

Favourite Instagram accounts to follow:

My current fave is @shop.with.caroline - she’s nuts and I love her LA-ness.

What’s in your handbag right now:

A total mess as usual - crushed M&Ms, girls’ hair ties, hairbrush, scraps of paper notes and receipts, bag of lipsticks, wallet, notebook, colouring pencils….

What’s the biggest fashion mistake you’ve ever made:

The floral skirt and clogs phase in the ‘90s did not serve me well.

What are you doing for the rest of the day:

Watching a movie with the kids in front of the fire - bliss!

Chris Stapleton ‘You should probably leave.’ I love country music!

Are you a ‘wish list’ or an ‘add to cart’ kind of girl:
