In today's world, it is a privilege to come across individuals who embody strength, resilience and determination. For us at Maman one such remarkable person is Bridget Snelling (Biddy), a true friend of our brand. Biddy's journey as a mother, daughter, sister, friend, a wife, the now Country Manager of Xero New Zealand and a breast cancer survivor is an inspiring story and one that has driven us here at Maman to work closely with the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation to help raise both awareness and funds to support their tireless work.
Our founders Kate and Emma met Biddy back at school. She was always outgoing, friendly and had that ability, even back then, to manage everything with a level head; a true leader. A proud supporter of Maman since day one, Biddy is a constant cheerleader in her friends and families worlds so when Biddy was diagnosed in 2021 with breast cancer it was time for her community to rally around her. Managing her job as the then Marketing Director for Xero New Zealand, medical appointments and long days of treatment alongside her husband Ben and three gorgeous children Tommy, Jemima and Tallulah in the COVID-19 era was incredible and humbling to watch.
Last week Maman hosted a Wellness Morning with Biddy as our guest speaker, where she spoke to a room of our wonderful Maman community about her top tips for self care and what her breast cancer diagnosis has taught her. Such an inspiration, she helped to drive the room to successfully raise $10,000 for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
Biddy's ability to maintain a work-life balance reminds us of the importance of prioritising our loved ones. Her professional success demonstrates the power of determination, hard work and innovation. Biddy's journey through breast cancer serves as a reminder to cherish our health, stay positive in the face of adversity and above all to support those around us in sickness and in health. We are so proud to have Biddy as our latest Maman Woman and remain in absolute awe of everything she does, everything she is, and everything she stands for. #TeamBiddy
