Textile Recycling
Closing The Loop with ImpacTex
See how, together with ImpacTex, we gave your unloved denim a new life, and a renewed sense of purpose.
At Maman, we believe denim is made to be lived in, loved and kept in circulation and not sent to landfill. That’s why, this past Denim Month, we were proud to partner again with ImpacTex NZ, an organisation working to transform textile waste into a valuable resource.
ImpacTex shares our belief that the future of fashion should be more circular. Through innovation, research and collaboration, they’re creating practical pathways away from landfill and towards genuine textile circularity.
Together, we’re giving your once-loved denim a new sense of purpose, and taking a considered step towards a more sustainable, lower-carbon future. Because every pair deserves another chapter.
The Result
Thanks to you, we saved nearly 13kg of once-loved denim from ending up where it shouldn’t.
Each piece will now be thoughtfully sorted and sent to the right place. Fabrics will be transformed into recycled materials with a new purpose, while zips and metal trims that can’t be recycled will be passed on to fashion institutes, where they can be creatively repurposed through design.
Selected pieces will also be given a second life through impacTex’s charity partners, supporting women in need.
A small collection with a meaningful impact, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
ImpacTex’s work is about more than keeping textiles out of landfill, it’s about creating meaningful change for people, too. In just two years, they’ve donated more than nine tonnes of garments and homewares (around 22,000 items) to their Social Impact Partners.
We’re proud that our Denim Month collection now forms part of this bigger story: less waste, more purpose and a more considered future for generations to come.
A huge thanks to Carol & their adorable ImpacTex mascot for having the Maman Team & for letting our community be apart of this incredible initiative.
