10 YEARS TOGETHER

CHERYL WHITING

Real Estate Trailblazer and Fashion Icon

To know Cheryl Whiting is to admire her. A force in Auckland real estate for over 37 years, Cheryl is the epitome of polish, professionalism, and personality. But to Maman, she is also something far more
personal, a mentor, a supporter, and a cherished connection to our roots.

Cheryl’s real estate career began in 1988 at Challenge Real Estate in Remuera, and from there she rose to become one of the most respected names in the business. Cheryl was named New Zealand’s No. 1 salesperson for three consecutive years in the 1990s with her expertise spanning some of Auckland’s most desirable suburbs, including Remuera, Parnell, Meadowbank, Mission Bay and Saint Heliers.

But her influence goes far beyond property. Cheryl has been a long-time friend and mentor to Maman’s founders, offering wisdom on everything from business leadership to navigating the juggle of motherhood and career. Her advice has always been generous, her support unwavering, and her presence, a constant source of encouragement. She regularly checks in, offers guidance, and acts as a trusted sounding board.

Her connection to the Maman story runs even deeper: Cheryl was a great friend to Kate and Emma’s late mother, Deb. In fact, Cheryl was Deb’s first boss and colleague in the real estate world, making her part of the family legacy that lives on through Maman today.

A true fashion woman at heart, Cheryl’s style is bold, joyful, and utterly her own. She’s never afraid of colour, print, or statement pieces, and her love for fashion is matched only by her impeccable eye. She embodies what Maman stands for: individuality, confidence, and fun with flair.

Beyond her professional achievements and style, Cheryl’s greatest contribution may be her tireless community work. For more than 27 years, she has volunteered with Mercy Hospice Auckland helping raise vital funds and awareness for palliative care services in our city. Her dedication has made a lasting impact on countless lives, and it reflects the deep compassion and generosity that define who she is.

As we honour Ten Years Together, Cheryl Whiting represents everything we admire: strength, style, and an enduring commitment to lifting others up. We are proud to count her as part of our journey, and even prouder to call her a friend.
